<p class="wp-block-paragraph">New operational members are automatically added to the Alpha Crew when they are voted in, and they remain on the Alpha Crew until they complete their training and are added to the riding database, at which point they choose another duty crew to join.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Alpha Crew is intended to help new members through the process of completing the <a href="https://www.ovfc28.org/articles/new-member-process/new-member-first-steps/">new member requirements</a>, registering for <a href="https://www.ovfc28.org/articles/member-info/mfri-class-registration/">MFRI classes</a>, and completing other required training.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Alpha Crew members are asked to attend at least two Alpha Crew meetings per month. They must also meet all other non-staffing requirements for operational members under the <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vtLDfvoxS7h1RznmSXqeJ20FqD3o4dG2/view?usp=sharing">Membership Activity Requirements policy</a>, such as attending at least one <a href="https://www.ovfc28.org/articles/station-events-activities/monthly-company-meetings/">company meeting</a> per quarter and participating in every mandatory event (like the <a href="https://www.ovfc28.org/articles/station-events-activities/ovfc-carnival/">Carnival</a>).</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Odenton Day is an annual community event in Odenton, Maryland that is generally held on the first Saturday in October. The OVFC hosts an open house as part of Odenton Day, as well as renting exhibit tables in our hall to various companies and community groups.</p>
<p>OVFC&#8217;s Odenton Day open house is a mandatory event for all members.</p>
<h1>Event Preparation</h1>
<h2>Shift Chore List</h2>
<p>The station chore list should be posted at least two full weeks before Odenton Day. This will allow each crew two shifts to complete their assignments. Each shift has a specific chore list to be completed which is as follows:</p>
<h3>Monday</h3>
<ul>
<li>Kitchen
<ul>
<li>Thoroughly clean refrigerator, range, range hood and dishwasher</li>
<li>Clean out and wipe down all cabinets and under sink</li>
<li>Straighten all cabinets and drawers</li>
<li>Clean out utility closet</li>
<li>Clean microwave oven, coffee pot and toaster</li>
<li>Wipe down countertops and cabinet fronts</li>
<li>Wipe down doors, including top edge</li>
<li>Wipe down window ledge, baseboards and chair rail moldings</li>
<li>Clean HVAC diffusers and light fixtures.  Replace lights as needed.</li>
<li>Clean inside and outside of trash can</li>
<li>Wipe down TV and TV Cabinet</li>
<li>Clean edges of bulletin/marker boards and map case</li>
<li>Clean out and straighten supply and linen closets</li>
<li>Clean windows inside and outside</li>
<li>Thoroughly clean floor, especially along edges and in closets</li>
<li>Any other work obviously required</li>
</ul>

<h3>Tuesday</h3>

<li>Wipe down workbench, parts cabinets, yellow cabinet, welder</li>

<li>Straighten yellow cabinet, janitorial closet and EMS closet</li>
<li>Clean HVAC diffusers and light fixtures.  Replace lights as needed.</li>
<li>Straighten shelves in tool room and wipe down as needed</li>
<li>Straighten toolbox</li>
<li>Clean inside and outside of trash can</li>
<li>Thoroughly clean floor, especially along edges, in corners, in closets and under objects</li>
<li>Any other work obviously required</li>

<li>Alarm Room

<li>Clean interior and exterior of glass door and windows</li>
<li>Wipe down baseboards, window ledges, and map shelf</li>

<li>Straighten and wipe down desk surfaces, radio rack and top of cabinets</li>
<li>Clean scuff marks off cabinets</li>
<li>Wipe down computers, printers and other equipment</li>
<li>Straighten contents of cabinets</li>

<li>Thoroughly clean floor, especially along edges and under desks and radio rack</li>

<p>A carnival company is hired to set up and operate carnival rides and games and sell snack food, while the OVFC members cook and sell food, operate additional games, and manage and clean the hall and carnival grounds.</p>
<p>The Carnival is a mandatory event for all members, who are usually required to work four of the seven nights.</p>
<p>Working members are usually asked to wear an OVFC T-shirt and closed-toed shoes.</p>
