Lt. Johnson Earns Governor’s Service Award

Congratulations to OVFC’s Lieutenant Dave Johnson for being recognized as the 2020 Governor’s Volunteer Service Awardee in the First Responder Category by the Maryland Governor’s Office on Service & Volunteerism.  Dave joined the OVFC in May 2013 and quickly immersed himself in training (some 950 hours) while concurrently assuming leadership roles in the organization. Dave has an incredible work ethic and dedication to service and regularly performs about 30 hours of duty time each week in support of the OVFC mission to provide volunteer emergency services to the community. Here is a YouTube video about OVFC that was included in the Governor’s office announcement.

Odenton Volunteer Fire Company Fire and EMS operations are conducted by its members primarily in the Maryland communities of Odenton and Severn.
