On October 10, 2014, Ethel V. Disney passed away at BMWC at the age of 88. Born on August 1, 1926, Ethel was a lifelong resident of Woodwardville. Devoted wife of 20 years to the late Martin A. Disney and wife of 15 years to the late George F. Cornell Sr.; Beloved mother of George G. Cornell Jr. of Glen Burnie, Marlene F. Brown of Ocean City and Theresa Disney-Lewis of Gambrills; Caring sister of Elaine Lloyd of Gambrills and Helen Zinn of Arizona; Cherished grandmother of 7, great-mother of 7 and great-great-grandmother of 2. She was predeceased by her son Barry W. Cornell and her siblings Alva Phelps and Samuel I. Crawford.

Ethel worked as a butcher for Safeway for 12 years. She was a lifelong member of the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Upper Marlboro Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Ethel was also a lifelong member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of Trinity UMC. She enjoyed bowling and being a home maker.

Odenton Volunteer Fire Company Fire and EMS operations are conducted by its members primarily in the Maryland communities of Odenton and Severn.
