Joan M. Dorsey peacefully departed this life on November 23, 2016, at the age of 69.
Joan joined the Ladies Auxiliary in January 2007. She loved helping in any way she could to include working fundraisers, Odenton Day, attending meetings, and most notable she loved to work every night in the zoo dip stand at the annual carnival.
Joan served as Color Bearer for several years. Joan was also an active member of the Wilson Memorial United Methodist Church. No one could march in the church choir like she could.
When Joan moved to Stoney Hill in Odenton, she was voted in as the community leader and advocate. She never took her responsibilities lightly. Even as a senior herself, she always checked in on the other residents of the community. She was also active in the O’Malley Senior Center.
Joan was a hard worker no matter what she took on. She will be remembered as a strong, powerful, beautiful, intelligent, and passionate woman. Most important she was a dear friend to many.
