Firefighter II Zachary Zwicker has received the 2020 Volunteer Firefighter of the Year Award from the Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Zach joined OVFC in 2017 and has been very active at the station, riding two 12-hour shifts per week, and responding to 158 emergency calls in 2019. He participated in various community events, and is a member of our Constitution & Bylaws Committee as well as the OVFC Honor Guard. He was recently elected as a Member at Large on our Board of Directors. He has organized fundraising events and organized the Stephen Sillers Tunnel to Towers event for Baltimore, as well as two other stair climb events and led the OVFC team to be a top fundraising team. OVFC is proud of the contributions and leadership of Zach Zwicker and this award highlights the community’s appreciation.
