Just after 10:30 pm on the evening of Thursday, Dec 7, units were alerted for a possible dwelling fire on the 1300 block of Fararra Drive in Odenton.
OVFC’s Engine 282 arrived to find a two-story duplex with fire showing from the 2nd floor. OVFC’s engine crew stretched a line and began an interior attack on the 2nd floor while Truck 29, transferred to Co. 5’s quarters, arrived and laddered the building and subsequently assisted Engine 282’s crew on Division 2 with fire suppression.
Units from Ft. Meade, Ferndale, BWI and Arundel assisted on the call bringing the fire under control in 20 minutes. Three adults and three children were displaced as a result of the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross. Fire Investigators determined the cause to be accidental causing approximately $200,000 in damage. There were no injuries.
