The perfect day for any first responder be they police, fire, EMS, or emergency room personnel is when there are no calls for help, no request for medical support, and no visitors to the ER. That’s because this means nobody is sick, injured, and there is no damage or loss of property.
Until that day comes, the more education and resources citizens have the better prepared they are to avoid injuries, help themselves, and or help their family and friends. Anne Arundel County Fire Department is split into four battalions. Each battalion has seven stations with the exception of 2nd Battalion which has eight. The City of Annapolis, Fort Meade, USNA, and BWI are not part of a battalion.
FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) classes are required along with Firefighter I and or Emergency Medical Technician. The ICS classes can be take anytime, for free. All you need to do is sign up for a free FEMA Student ID. Besides the ICS classes listed below, there are many more available…all for free.
Odenton Volunteer Fire Company Fire and EMS operations are conducted by its members primarily in the Maryland communities of Odenton and the surrounding communities.
